The Healing Power In Enjoying The Lord’s Presence

Healing is a life time process of overcoming wounds that occur along our life’s journey. The very definition of healing means, “the process of making or becoming sound or healthy again.”  As believers in Christ, when we come to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we are confessing our need to be healed. We are confessing our need to be redeemed in the healed identity of Christ, who is the Lord and Savior of our whole person and everyday lifestyle. Our life’s journey is a healing process of cultivating a healthy relationship with God, a healthy relationship with the trinity of God in us and a healthy relationship with the God in people. The first four letters of the word healthy is heal. God desires us to heal so that we become healthy in mind, spirit, soul and body. His very presence is our gift of healing because His  very presence is our gift of eternal life; which is the living and powerful healing presence of the trinity of God in our mind, spirit, soul and body.

Outside of God’s presence in us is the presence of sin that wounds us with the unhealthy identity of the enemy of the inner me. Because we are born into sin and shaped into iniquity, we are more familiar with our unhealthy sinful identity then we are with our healed identity in Christ. If we desire to truly heal, we must confess our need to be healed; not just when we initially accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior but every moment we realize how much we need to be healed and delivered. The word of God tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and HEAL their land.

God desires to heal the land of our whole person identity in mind, spirit, soul and body that is our thoughts, beliefs, perspectives, words, will, desires, emotions, feelings and actions. Without us committing to the lifetime journey of healing; we choose to accept the curse of an unhealthy sinful identity that we were born and shaped into. Therefore, we end up reaping the deceitful lust and wicked pride of our own understanding that hinders an intimate relationship with God through Christ Jesus. This is the lifelong and daily battle that is the spiritual war of deciding to obey God instead of disobey God. The more we enjoy the presence of God, the more it becomes easier to obey God, because our obedience becomes our love response instead of a religious obligation. The word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

I acknowledge it is not always easy to love God. This is because it is not easy to surrender the unhealthy sinful identity of our flesh that deceives us with the temptations of our selfish will and wicked pride; which is the evidence that we do not understand the thoughts or ways of God because we are too intimate with the thoughts and ways of this worldly culture that wants to conform us, while God desires to transform us back to His image according to His likeness. It is not easy to be something or someone that we were not raised nor trained to become. However, the more we abide in the presence of the living word of God, the more we position ourselves to be graced by the righteous desire to obey God, all because we delighted in His presence. This is the retraining that is the renewing of the mind and the spirit of our mind. Psalms 37:4 tells us :

Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

The more we delight ourselves in the presence of God’s living and powerful word, the more we will desire to obey His word that becomes our love response toward Him, ourselves and others. This becomes the love response that is revealed by us obeying the faith that we hear; where we become doers of the word of God and not hearers only. Our obedience is the evidence that we love the living and powerful word of God that we hear. Proverbs 18:21 tells us:

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

When we love the word of God that we hear, we will eat the fruit of that word which means we will trust the desire of that word and respond accordingly. Any instruction that God gives us is purposed to grow us in the understanding of how He loves that is only learned through obeying what He reveals to us. The more we obey Him because we delight in His word that we hear, the more we obey in love and are transformed into the image and likeness of His perfect love and delivered from the religious obligation of outward service that lacks the presence of heart transformation. This heart transformation is the evidence of a new belief, a new spirit, new desire and therefore a new heart that has been purified by faith making us single minded and therefore one with God in the healed identity of our new creation in Christ.

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

The devil is in the presence of our unhealthy sinful thoughts, beliefs, perspectives, will, desires, emotions, feelings and actions of our unhealthy, sinful , and non redeemed identity that conforms us to the image and likeness of Satan, creating in us a battle that is the evidence of double mindedness because we have not decided in our whole person to commit to God in every area of our life. I understand this is a process, however the process is revealed by God when it time to move forward in our healing.

Our whole person is purposed to worship God. A worshipper is someone who delights in the presence of God’s living word and bears fruit by obeying God. Our walk by faith is our love response. It is how we heal and are used by God to heal others. To walk by faith means to believe by faith, the living word of God, that is the evidence of us obeying the faith that we hear. When we obey the faith that we hear, we heal and we are used to be God’s vessel of healing to others reconciling each other back to covenant with the Father. I hope this article has inspired you to self evaluate your love response to the Father, yourself and those He has purposed you to be in covenant relationship with.

I invite you to join New You Wellness Community where we are committed to our life’s journey of healing and being reconciled back to our healed identity in Christ that is revealed in how we love God, how we love ourselves and how we love others; making it well with everything that concerns us.

  1. I truly love this article on the healing power in enjoying The Lord’s presence. All this wee, I have been adamant about keeping God’s word around me in case I need to read it as weaponry against the enemy. He hasn’t been the easiest to deal with in my life, but I am staying true to who I know is in my corner to take over the battle that I am up against; and that is my Heavenly Father. All throughout God’s word is what I need to not go under and be defeated through this walk and journey in Christ. I am believing and receiving God’s word on who I am in Christ, and how the Lord is there for me as long as I am walking in the faith that I am receiving from the true and living word. I have declared that this is the last day that I will be under attack due to my consistency in God’s word. Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us to attend to God’s word and submit to His sayings. I will keep them in my sight, and in the center of my heart. They are life to me, and healing to my whole body. What this tells me is that as long as the word is every where that I am, and I obey to the word, healing will never leave. Healing to me is everlasting. I don’t want to become healed in and out and not submit to the word anymore. I will still continue to stay in the word because the enemy is going to always be on the prowl, so I have to keep the word nearby for my peace and Grace!

    1. Yes, healing never leaves us because His presence is our healing. The more we obey, the more we are covered in His healing presence. Therefore, His healing presence becomes our new identity.
