The Beauty In Pursuing A New Lifestyle In Christ

The word of God tells us without holiness no man will see God. Jesus said in Mark 12:29 that the Lord God is one. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Jesus told us to love God with all our mind, soul, spirit and body. God wants us to pursue a lifestyle of holiness, but we will not be able to do so without the power of the Holy Spirit. Within this new lifestyle we will be able to experience God’s abundant blessings. The word of God tells us to be one mind in Christ and not to be conformed but transformed by the renewing of our mind. It is also important for us to be renewed in the Spirit of our mind. To be renewed in the spirit of our mind is to be born again in the Holy Spirit. To see this fulfilled in our lives we must be on the pursuit to holiness.

God wants us to experience new desires in our life so He can release His abundant blessings. He will be able to do so when we first desire to pursue His new way of living. God’s new way of living is pursuing a lifestyle that is committed to Him. The word of God tells us in Job 5:8 but as for me, I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause. A lifestyle that is committed to Him is a lifestyle that is on the path of holiness. You may think that a lifestyle of holiness is not realistically achievable on earth, but that is not true. If it was not achievable, Jesus would not have told us to be one with God. To be one with God is to be of the same mind, soul, spirit and body. In Genesis 1:26 God said let us make man in our image and likeness and let them have dominion.

As I mentioned earlier, a new lifestyle of holiness is only achievable through the power of the Holy Spirit, therefore our spirit man must be born again (John 3). When we are born again, our spirit man takes on the new nature of the Holy Spirit. Then we start the journey towards the new lifestyle through nurturing a daily desire the Holy Spirit in us. Ephesians 3:20 tells us we can do exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask or think according to the power that works in us. This power is the power of the Holy Spirit that must be activated with the word of God. The more of God’s word we have rooted in our heart the more we will experience the power of the Holy Spirit in our life and the more Grace we will see manifested in our life.

Every blessing God releases is released through His word. He tells us in John 1:1 that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. This include a new lifestyle of holiness.  God’s kingdom is not in word only but power. Hebrews 4:12 tells us it is God’s word that is living and powerful and sharper than a two edge sword piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Take God’s advice found in Isaiah 43:18 when He said “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” God is advising in this scripture to not desire anything outside of His will for our life because it is on assignment to kill, steal and destroy our new lifestyle of abundant life, which is the presence of God in our mind, spirit, soul and body. He wants us to embrace the new desire, new will, new lifestyle of believing and trusting Him.

The word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Christ means anointed one. If anyone is in the anointing all desires are new when our desires are one with God’s desires and will. Being one with God’s desires and will is holiness. Holiness is the new lifestyle, the lifestyle of you being made whole in God’s righteous desires (Matthew 6:33). When we are made whole in God’s righteous desires we will no longer battle with the evil desire of a deceitful and desperately wicked heart (Jeremiah 17:9). Instead, we will be free to enjoy the eternal inner beauty of God’s righteous desires because our mind, spirit, soul and body have been transformed into His image according to His likeness (Genesis 1:26).

The daily devotional I provide on this online publication is to help you desire to become one with the identity of God’s righteous desires in your mind, spirit, soul and body. His presence in you reveals the authentic you as He frees you to enjoy abundant life in the presence of His everlasting love for you and towards people.
